Why this happens

Berberine and vitamin D3 are processed by the body through different pathways. Berberine is primarily metabolised by liver enzymes (such as CYP3A4), while vitamin D3 is a fat-soluble vitamin that undergoes hydroxylation in the liver and kidneys. They do not compete for absorption or interfere with each other's biological activity.

You can continue taking both supplements as directed. However, because berberine can lower blood sugar, you should monitor how you feel if you have diabetes. Always inform your doctor or pharmacist about all supplements you are taking, especially if you have underlying health conditions or are taking prescription medications.
