Can I take Black cohosh and Glucosamine together?

Why this happens

These two substances are processed by the body through different pathways. Glucosamine is an amino sugar used by the body to build cartilage, while black cohosh is a herbal remedy that primarily affects hormonal pathways or neurotransmitters. They do not compete for the same enzymes in the liver (such as the Cytochrome P450 system) to a degree that would cause a dangerous buildup of either substance.

You can take these two supplements together. However, as with any supplement regime, you should monitor how you feel. If you have liver problems, consult your doctor before taking black cohosh, as it has been linked to rare cases of liver inflammation. If you have a shellfish allergy, ensure your glucosamine is from a vegan or bovine source.
