Can I take Diltiazem and Losartan together?

Why this happens

Both medicines are used to treat high blood pressure but work in different ways. Diltiazem is a calcium channel blocker and losartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker. When used together, their effects add up (an additive effect). Additionally, diltiazem can slow down the enzymes in the liver that break down certain medicines, which may slightly change how losartan is processed.

It is common for doctors to prescribe these together, but you should monitor your blood pressure regularly at home. Be careful when getting out of bed or standing up. If you feel very dizzy, experience a racing heartbeat, or feel like you might faint, contact your doctor. They may need to adjust your doses.
