Taking lion's mane and melatonin together may increase drowsiness or sleepiness more than taking either one alone. While generally safe for most people, the combination could make you feel overly tired or 'groggy' the next morning.

Why this happens
Both substances can affect the central nervous system. Melatonin is a hormone that regulates sleep-wake cycles, while lion's mane is a mushroom that may have calming effects on the brain. When used together, their sedative effects can add up (an additive effect).
